A large part of this collection consists of legal opinions rendered by George Bryan, judge of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, which reflect judicial history in the colonial period. Among these items is his opinion in the case of John Fitch vs James Rumsey, relating to claims involved in the introduction of steam-propelled vessels, 1789.
